Abu Dhabi Eco-Chicks hosted the Green Drinks Iftar at the One to One Hotel on August 19th. The event was a huge success with over 75 people in attendance! By the end of the night over 3,200 aed was raised to support the EWS-WWF Marine Turtle Conservation Project.
The Marine Turtle Conservation Project is a three-year project launched in early 2010 to establish a satellite tracking programme and conduct research. The tagging of 75 Hawksbill turtles from 5 countries (UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran) will provide insights into turtle habitats and behavior in the Gulf and worldwide. During the event many guests expressed interest in becoming Eco-Chick members. We are excited to see so many from the Abu Dhabi community interested in supporting environmental causes.

Lots of new recycling bins all along the Corniche now. I collect all my paper, plastic and glass and take all the bags down to recycle :o)
